Problem Statement

In light of the recent events that took place in Pulwama and our government’s action to those events, we as a country witnessed yet another unmatched performance by our defence system. The defence force has lived upto its expectations and it is high time we do too.

Its time to take the fight to a new level of technology. As the technological brains of our Nation it is on our shoulders to build technologies specifically WarBots that in the near future can replace the loss of life. Lets take a pledge to not let any other Case like Abhinandan Thakur happen to our Nation.

"So your task, should you choose to accept it, is to Design and Manufacture a Manually Controlled Robot(WarBot) Wired or Wireless within the specified Dimensions stated below. The WarBot should be capable of fighting, damaging, demolishing and completely immobilising or if instructed to then completely destroying the opponent without failure. The WarBot should be able to withstand any brutal force or obstacle that may come in between its target. The Technology implemented must be so Advanced and Effective that the WarBot should be in and out of the mission before the opponent can even gather intell of the task our defence has assigned to the WarBot."

Description

Long gone are the days of War when two nations would Fight for Glory. This is the new era, the era of automation, the era of Science. The ERA of Robots. It is a very proud moment for this nation when the gennext of technology starts to take responsibility to build WarBots that will make a new benchmark on how Wars will be fought in the future. Have you ever wondered what would it be like to put a WarBot to test to face another WarBot head on. Who would win? Who will Survive the Battle? Are you the one who will Go Home with the Glory?

For We, at the ROBOWARS 2k19, are ready to make these Imaginations turn into Reality, with the Best in Class Arena and Top-Class Robots from all over India Combating against each other. The WarBot is versatile in nature and can be used for surveillance and gathering of intel or can be loaded with weapons to fight actual wars. The technology of WarBot is not only limited to its use in Defence. The technology has uses in mining, sea exploration and construction too.

Advantages

  • In the near future the WarBot will replace the need of a soldier to put himself at risk.
  • The WarBot can be easily mass produced.
  • There is no training required for multiple bots to work in synchronisation only coding is required for that purpose.

Arena Specifications

  • The arena will be of 20ft*20ft (l*b).
  • The arena will have a wooden floor.
  • The arena may or may not contain obstacles and weapons.

Gameplay

  • There will be 3 rounds. Each round will be of 5 minutes. The winners of the round 1 will qualify to the next round and that of round 2 will qualify to the next round.
  • The aim of every match is to demolish and immobilize the other WarBot completely.
  • The Teams will be called 15mins prior to their match; another call will be made at 10mins.
  • The Team must be present along with their completely ready bot 10mins prior to their match.
  • The WarBot will undergo Quality check.
  • Once the Team is cleared by the QC team and when the Arena Coordinator instructs the team, the team will be allowed inside the arena and they must place their bot in position.
  • 1mins Time will be provided to both Teams to adjust their bot and make them ready for the War.
  • In case the Team has any objections against their opponents, the Team can approach the Coordinator and convey their Objections. Any legitimate request or objection will be entertained and necessary action will be taken by our coordinators for it.
  • Any Rules, Points and other necessary details will be clarified to both teams at the time of the war.
  • Professional equipment, Bots and Professional Teams are allowed in war not in Miniwar.

Bot Specifications Robowar

  • Robot can be wired or wireless.
  • The Maximum allowed size of WarBot is 650mm*650mm*400mm, WarBots exceeding these sizes will not be allowed to participate in the War.
  • The Maximum allowed Weight of the WarBot is 35Kg and the Minimum allowed Weight of the WarBot is 21Kg. Any WarBot with weight greater than 21kg and lesser than or equal to 35kg is eligible to participate in the war. WarBots below or above these limits will not be entertained.
  • The Allowed Voltage is 48V. A voltage of 48V or below must be maintained between Terminals. No Terminals can have Voltage above 48V.
  • Lead Acid Batteries are not allowed inside the arena.
  • Li ion and LiPo batteries are allowed but must be well protected.
  • The Length of the wire (for Wired WarBots) should be long enough to completely cover the arena and wire should remain slack at all times during war.
  • Readymade bots will not be entertained.
  • Magnets, Electromagnets, Flame Thrower, Electric shock devices, EMP circuits, Water Spraying, pneumatic, hydraulics or any other thing that may lead to hazard is not allowed.
  • Professional Teams, Professional Bot or Professional equipment in the Bot will be allowed.

Bot Specifications Minirobowar

  • The Maximum allowed size of WarBot is 400mm*400mm*300mm, WarBots exceeding these sizes will not be allowed to participate in the War.
  • The Maximum allowed Weight of the WarBot is 20Kg and the Minimum allowed Weight of the WarBot is 2Kg. Any WarBot with weight greater than 2kg and lesser than or equal to 20 kg is eligible to participate in the war. WarBots below or above these limits will not be entertained.
  • The Allowed Voltage is 24V. A voltage of 24V or below must be maintained between Terminals. No Terminals can have Voltage above 24V.
  • Lead Acid Batteries are not allowed inside the arena.

General Rules

  • Each team has to make their WarBots under the specifications given above.
  • Each team can have maximum 6 members in 35kg as well as in 20kg war event. Students from different institutes can form a team. Professionals are not allowed.
  • No test practice will be allowed on the arena.
  • The WarBot should not damage the arena else it will lead to penalty.
  • Severely damaging the arena will lead to disqualification of the WarBot.
  • Each member of the team must have identity card of his/her respective institute.
  • Qualification to the next level is subjective and totally based on the judges.
  • Each Team is advised to make clear demarcations (Like Branding or name of team or name of WarBot) on their bots to make it easier to award points in case two similar looking bots are at War. In case two similar looking bots do go at War we will provide for colored Strip to be put clearly on your bot.
  • Certificates of participation will be given to all the teams. Disqualified teams will not get the certificate due to disobeying any of the rules.
  • Unethical behavior from any team member could lead to disqualification.
  • Faculty coordinators and Head coordinator have all the rights to take final decision for any matter during the event, and also reserve the rights to add/remove/change any rules before or during the event.
  • The necessary rules for playing the match will be explained on the day of event.
  • Use of gas, fire or electrical fittings on your WarBot will lead to disqualification of the WarBot.
  • Maximum DC source voltage allowed for 20Kg event is 24V and for the 35Kg event is 48V.
  • Bring your own AC to DC converter as college will provide 220Volt AC supply only.
